NEW at Sephora! Volition Beauty!

I am so excited to be able to share a blog post on a new beauty line that is launching at Sephora.com TOMORROW, August 8th! Volition Beauty is 'the first and only beauty brand that co-creates with you' by having their 'community of beauty enthusiasts solve real beauty problems with purpose and innovation.'

I was so excited when Volition Beauty reached out to me to review 5 of their products and give my thoughts and honest opinion on them. They just asked me to test them out and post on Instagram what I thought -- but I've honestly fallen in love with three of the five that a just an Instagram post couldn't suffice!

Here are the five products, with my top 3 listed last!

Turmeric Brightening Polish ($38)

As per Volition Beauty -- "a turmeric-powered body scrub that brightens and tones both face and body for naturally glowing skin."

I really liked this body scrub! It didn't have a particular scent and I felt the scrub particles were good enough to leave my skin feeling fresh and soft afterward. I haven't used it enough to truly and completely recommend it, but with continued use I will provide more thoughts on it. So far, so good!

Helix AM/PM Eye Gel ($52)

As per Volition Beauty -- "a hydrating, anti-aging eye gel that plays well under makeup."

I'm not gonna lie, at first I was semi put-off by its texture and look: a thin clear, jelly substance which at first reminded me of silicone primers, but it didn't have the feel of them. Over time (I've used this as directed-night and morning before makeup application) I have come to really like it. I like the soft feel. I would describe it as being right between a thin and thick eye cream. It doesn't mess up my makeup application and it has become a staple in my morning and night routine.

And now... my top 3 recommendations!!!

Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask ($60)

As per Volition Beauty -- "a unique, nutrient rich gel mask that draws out impurities and toxins while hydrating for softer skin."

Y'all this face mask is awesome!! It's this mud-brown color that feels cool when applied, but not that overbearing cooling sensation where it can be bothersome. I leave it on for 10 minutes and then remove it by wetting the sponge it comes with and it easily takes off the mask. Afterwards, my face feels so soft and ready for makeup application. I would recommend it in a heart beat! I have been using it every other day religiously!

Oceanene Youth-Boost Gel ($50)

As per Volition Beauty -- "a lightweight but powerful gel moisturizer that combines marine algae with anti-aging bioactive to preserve and restore younger-looking skin."

I've been applying this every morning right after either cleansing or using the gelee mask. It leaves my face feeling hydrated, but its not thick where it feels heavy (like my clinique moisture surge intense). I've been preferring it over all of my current moisturizers because its the right amount of product for hot summer days but still provides the hydration you need. It's another one I would recommend.

Oil-Control Mattifying Mist ($29)

As per Volition Beauty -- "an invigorating on-the-go face mist that instantly leaves skin matte and shine-free, while controlling excess oil production over time."

THIS! The mist is perfection (finally, someone got it right!! [I'm looking at you, marc jacobs]). It instructs you to apply it after makeup but I've actually been using it right after I moisturize and then again after makeup. I have also been using it in conjunction with a new (and fabulous!) foundation I recently picked up and it leaves my skin looking so beautiful even 8 hours after application. It says you can apply it whenever you need a refresher/mattify your makeup but I haven't needed more than the sprays before and after. If you're only shopping for one item, this is the one I would say to try! I am definitely purchasing it after I use it up.
