I will have to be quite honest with you --- drugstore makeup hadnt excited me in quite a while. I just wasn't interested in their new offerings.

I can't remember when the last time was that I truly lusted for a release from a drugstore brand, but Maybelline's recent offerings have had me stalking all my Walgreens, CVS stores, Targets, Wal-Marts and even Amazon!! I am most excited about the Master Bronze palette, especially with that beautiful embossment that reminded me of the newly reformulated NARS bronzers.

After looking everywhere, literally, Iwas able to find the collection at my local Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, the highlighter was already sold out and I haven't seen enough swatches and reviews to pick up the metallic matte lipsticks so I settled for these items instead.

Master Bronze palette.

Let me just say: the palette is nice. And I think it will suit medium to med-dark tones better than pale/light or deep tones. The highlight surprised me, I didn't expect it to be as pigmented as it was. The second shade from the left was the shade that didn't show up too well on me. I'm not sure if its supposed to be a bronzer, but there is a sheen to it and I think I could get away with using it as a subtle highlight.

The third shade from the left has gold reflects in it that really put me off at first. They are visible in the pan and I thought to myself "why, maybelline, wtf why?!" but once I swatched it they weren't visible anymore. This was warmer in comparison to the last shade.

The last shade is the most pigmented of the bunch and is dark enough to contour or just add some more depth to your look if needed. This one was completely matte in the pan and my favorite shade of them all.

I do have to say that the powders, when finger switching, were rather rough. I was able to pick up pigment for all shades though, and I think when using a brush there shouldn't be any issues. However, I must say that the big fluffy brush I use to bronze all over my face will not fit in one of the pans alone -- it will probably pick up another shade depending which I use. Your brushes would have to be on the smaller side in order to only grab your desired shade.

Overall, I am happy with this palette. It was worth the hunt and I am happy to add it to my makeup collection. It'll make a great travel palette since you'll have several options in one! I just have to say that this palette leaned very warm so if you're not a fan of that, you may want to skip out.

Superstay Matte Ink.

I picked up two shades from the range: Loyalist (nude) and Romantic (hot pink). Swatching them in indoor lighting, Loyalist looked like the perfect nude for me, however, it was a tad bit too light for MY taste once I was outside. I tested the color using my MAC Whirl lipliner and I didn't like the result. It gave me butthole lips and I truly think it was the lipliner. Maybe this formula just isn't meant to sit on top of a liner. It did emphasize my dry patches so I would suggest using a lip scrub before hand. It wore for 5 hours and I ate wings and drank from a straw and the color was still there. Romantic is so bright pink and juicy i just love looking at it! However, I wasn't convinced with these in the end and ended up returning them.

Vivid Hot Lacquer.

I saved the best for last!!! Honestly, if you try out anything from the new drugstore releases, TRY ONE OF THESE!! These glosses are pigmented beyond belief. They are a tad bit on the stickier side but that means that they'll last longer than your typical gloss. There were many options but I know the only glosses I'll use are nudes, so those were my choices. They really remind me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills glosses... so pigmented and longer-wearing. The shades, from left to right, are: Charmer, Unreal, Too Cute. After a couple of days of using this, i did smell a chemical scent coming from them. If you're not bothered by this, then no worries... it usually never bothers me but for some reason it did this time. I'll have to keep trying to see if the scent goes away, it is undetectable once on the lips but I definitely smelled it upon application.

Other items released from Maybelline included the gold Master Chrome highlight (which were all sold out), Metallic matte lipstick (I couldn't decide on a color so i didn't take any), City Mini palettes, Fit Me Loose setting powder (i was soooo tempted) and Fit me blushes. I would recommend the glosses and palette and say wait for more reviews on the superstay matte ink.

Here's a youtube video of me getting ready using two of these products: the master bronze palette and the vivid hot lacquer!

Have you tried any of these items? What do you think? Let me know!! See you on my next post! :)
