Sephora Fall Preview Event... My Picks!

This morning I woke up bright and early... well actually, I rolled out of my bed, and went to my local Sephora to preview and purchase the new fall releases.

They let us in earlier than 8:30 and I was able to shop with comfort since not many were there at the crack of dawn. All of the newer releases were placed at the front of the store, which was nice because I was able to look around without having to walk to different brand sections. I was a little sad that they didn't have the Becca stuff out yet (the duo chrome lipglosses/highlight) but that was okay. At the back of the store they had a small table with goodies, coffee, and water. It wasn't lavish but it was just enough to nibble while I shopped.

They didn't get the makeup bags they promised in time, however they did supplement with a nicer bag, in my opinion, as well as a plastic black and white sephora bag from a previous event, and they also gave nice gift with purchases on certain brands.

The most embarrassing part, though, was when I was ready to pay. The SA tells me my total and to my horror, my debit card was nowhere to be found!! I quickly called my husband, waking him up in the process, and he of course, came to the rescue. He's the only one who truly understands my makeup addiction. He sees my huge collection in our room every day. He thinks I'm crazy. lol.

Here were my picks!

Stila Tesoro liquid lipstick.

I wasn't planning on getting this lipstick at all. Not at all. I blame this purchase on one of the Sephora Cast members who asked me if I needed help and she was my skin tone and wearing it and of course I asked her what it was.... and the end result was it being thrown into my basket. The nice thing about purchasing this was I received one of their blushes for free.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume 3.

This wasn't something I was planning on getting either, but after swatching it i had to have it! The formula was smooth and buttery and the swatches with 1 swipe were very impressive. I don't own any of the previous rainforest of the sea palettes so this was justifiable....I think? lol.

Kat Von D Lolita Eyeshadow/Blush.

This was something I had my eye on and was happy to see it available. I think the color is beautiful but the texture of it is pretty rough. I wasn't ready for that since the only other shadow I own in the same pan is very creamy. We'll see how it applies though.

Point Perks.

I picked up two 100-point perks. A Korres night mask and a Tarte Lippie paint. Nothing huge but I do love trying skincare.

Overall, nothing really exciting, but i did use my Tesoro lipstick already and it was so great! I will now add Stila liquid lips to my list of comfortable liquid lippies. I will test out the other two items later and give my thoughts on them. What did you get at the sale? How was the event at your local Sephora? Do tell!
