Real Techniques Prep & Prime Set!

I recently received this package from Octoly to try and review. This is the Real Techniques Prep & Prime Set and I was ecstatic to try it! Some of my holy grail brushes i use on a daily basis include the Expert Face brush, Blush brush, and setting brush so this was very exciting for me!

The set comes with 5 items:

1. Beauty Spatula - used to retrieve cream products from the bottom of your jar. Although I've never owned a spatula type product before, I thought this was neat and can't wait to scoop the bottom of my Burberry Fresh Glow Nude Radiance! (more on a future post...)

2. Revive - you use this metal rounded tip with your favorite under eye cream. I recently finished up my Shiseido Benefiance wrinkle resist eye cream, so I've been trying this out with my Clinique Moisture Surge Intense cream and it does give off a very soothing and relaxing feel. If you've got the time, I would recommend using this wth your eye cream.

3. Prep brush - I have been absolutely loving this to apply my new foundation - Loreal Total Cover. Although not stated that it can be used for foundations, I find this brush evenly applies total cover without taking away too much of the thickness--I still use a beauty sponge afterwards to make sure everything has been blended out.

4. Complexion sponge - this sponge is a great dupe for the more expensive beauty blender. I like to use this when my BB is dirty and i have no time to wash it. After using this several days I find it to be just a tad more dense than the BB. This has been okay for me, but others may not like this. I still think its a great drugstore option and I actually received a second one for Christmas.

5. Sponge Stand - okay, am i the only one who's never thought about how useful this could be?! I always have my beauty sponges rolling around/away/off the table and it gets annoying! This is perfect for us gals who use sponges on a regular. If Real Techniques ends up selling this alone I will definitely buy another.

This set retails for $19.99 and i definitely recommend it. Its cute and quirky and comes with items you may not have gotten individually, however you will find useful (I'm eyeing you: sponge stand, spatula, and eye reviver!).
